It never gets old!

The birth of new calf never gets old to me. They are all so different with many kinds of personality and so vocal! Some are shy....some are bold.....some are very friendly...some very curious...some very cautious and I love learning and getting to know them. My momma cows are not necessarily perfect as far as Dexters go. Some of their utters are not straight but what I will say for them is they are good moms! The added fact that Dillon our bull changes the genetics is an understatement in that if they turn out to be a heifer their utters are perfect regardless of momma's not so perfect utter. What that means is Dillon's bloodline is correcting the issue that needs to be corrected and that is what you want in a good bull. So although some of my girls are not perfect I gladly keep them because they are such great moms and take excellent care of their young ones!
