The farm is a get away from stress of everyday living!
August 2, 2020
I am always and I mean ALWAYS thankful for my days off especially these specific recent times we live in. My job has become more stressful than ever before with the COVID excitement and the up and down of everything that goes with it. Needless to say I find myself happiest when I am driving my tractor....mowing grass....spreading poop (quite relaxing really....no thinking required either!)and I love the personalities of all of my cows! Summertime is so hot but we have actually had a good rainfall this summer season and I cannot complain as the grass has truly grown high and long....fall will be here before you know it and then the feeding chores will start up once again. You get used to being "DIRTY" all the time when you live on a farm. You go through not one pair of jeans but sometimes 3 or 4 pairs of jeans depending on what you have to do for that day. I am patiently trying to wait for our new tractor to come as our old one has bit the dust after giving us 12 long years of good service. Who would have thought that the COVID mess that has affected hospitals everywhere would affect all businesses but in different ways? Our tractor dealership is seeing the biggest increase in sales they have seen in some time. I mean they cannot keep tractors in stock because the demand has been so high! So maybe I am on to something....tractor work = stress relief 100%. Anyhow....hoping I can get my tractor delivered soon and I will definitely write a piece about the new tractor!
