Visited a different kind of cow farm...

We visited a very different kind of cow farm today located in Dixie, GA. Marvin and I have found that by visiting someone else's farm and start asking questions you begin to learn all kinds of new ways to do things and even change your thinking on conventional methods that "everybody" else does a certain way. We have so appreciated the knowledge and experience of the many farms we have visited over the past what 4 years we have been Dexter Cow Owners. It has been such a rewarding experience by far. We got to see a "salad bar" pasture in full bloom. Extremely interesting....it did look like a salad bar too! New discussions on how to do natural fertilizing in a different direction as well as changing our thinking in many of the ways that are "traditional" cow farmers take care of their cows. Sometimes just do a certain thing a certain way because that is what everybody else does...does not mean you have to go down that path. Look at the results....so today was a bunch of things to chew on for sure! It was a blessing and much to go over and discuss as we think about our future with our wonderful Dexter cows!
