Who is NO GATE?

We work very hard to rotate our cattle on a regular basis but still learning as we go forth. We planted 8 fields in ROW (Rye; Oats and Wheat) grass. We made the mistake of leaving the cows on the first 2 pastures too long and they did pretty good damage to the ROW crop. So we have 6 fields left in ROW that are still very viable. So we are very carefully watching each field and moving two groups of cows to two different fields 3 or more times per week depending on how the fields are looking. They are taken back to the two "sacrifice" fields in which we keep them in between the moving around. When not in a ROW field we feed them hay and alfa pellets. We take them out of the ROW fields by night fall and feed them 1 bale of hay each herd. If we keep them in the two sacrificed fields they are fed the pellets and hay. We are hoping by careful rotation we should continue to have rye fields that are viable for them to continue to eat and rotate as we can. We are new to this adventure!
We have discovered that one of our calves has difficulty with going through open gates like he is supposed to. My husband has nicknamed him NO Gate. No Gate does have difficulty in finding the opening especially if everybody else has gone in ahead of him. Hopefully he will begin to understand the process and be better about going through all gates! I love his nick name....No Gate it is!
